SP LINK Software, now supporting AS4777.2:2020

SP LINK will enable you to gain access to an enormous amount of information about the SP PRO inverter and the power system, and allows integrators to customise over 400 settings within the SP PRO for a superbly optimised system configuration.

SP LINK is simple to use and intuitive; the instruction manual can be accessed by right-clicking from within the program and is also available to download on the Resources page.

The software must be loaded onto a Windows-based PC and is not available for Apple, Linux or any mobile phones.

The first time the SP PRO is started it will search for an installed Comms Card 2017. This is a one-time search and may take up to 5 minutes. During this time, SP LINK cannot connect.
For all subsequent starts, there will be a delay of around 25 seconds after starting before SP LINK can be connected.

 

The current version is 15.30.8755.

SP LINK (24.7 MB)
Intended for System Integrators, to configure and maintain settings.
This includes all of the features from the Monitor version, plus all configuration and maintenance features. There is no additional need for the Monitor version.

SP LINK Monitor (24.6 MB)
Intended for End Users, to view information only.
This is similar to the full version, but does not include the features to alter the inverter's configuration or perform maintenance.

The current version contains SP PRO firmware 12.25, 14.58, and 15.30, plus Comms Card 2017 firmware 5.03.
Included firmware is suitable for single inverters, Powerchain, and its predecessor Advanced Multiphase. SP LINK will suggest appropriate firmware to support your configuration.

 

When should I update the SP PRO firmware?

15.xx is required for AS/NZS4777.2:2020 compliance
Update is critical for 14.00.
Update is critical for 9.00 or 9.01 in applications where a generator is used.
Update is required (firmware 9.70 or higher is required) before installing a Comms Card 2017 upgrade kit.
Updating all inverters to 11.x or higher is required before configuring them for Advanced Multiphase.
Updating all inverters to 14.x or higher is required before configuring them for Powerchain.

Update is recommended for 15.06.
Update is recommended for 14.01 to 14.14.
Update is recommended for 12.01 to 12.24 with Series I or Series II 120V models.
Update is recommended for 12.01 to 12.06.
Update is recommended for 11.00 to 11.09 with a SelectSun inverter.
Update is recommended for 9.00 to 9.08 in grid connected applications.
Update is recommended for 9.70 with LG Chem battery.
Update is optional for 9.09 - 9.81 without LG Chem battery.

Update is critical for Comms Card 2017 firmware 4.04 to 4.35.

Minimum System Requirements:

• Microsoft Windows: XP SP3, Vista SP1, 7, 8, 8.1, 10, 11
  (Vista SP2 or Windows 7 SP1 and up to date with SHA-2 certificate support is required to connect through Select Live.)
• Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 Client Profile. (The installer will download this if required.)
  
• Adobe Reader 7.0 (Reader 10.0 for 64 bit computers) or higher is required for interactive help.
• Microsoft Office Excel 2003 or higher is required to read the Performance Data Viewer.
  Note that a fully installed desktop version of Excel is required. Web based Office 365 Excel is not supported.
• For Series I inverters: One RS-232 serial COM port.
• For Series II inverters: Either one RS-232 serial COM port or one USB port.

SP LINK is not available for Apple, Linux or mobile phones.

Windows 11 with SP PRO Series II over USB

Windows 11 may experience some technical issues with the SP PRO Series II USB drivers.
Ensure that Memory integrity is set to OFF in Windows settings.

Settings > Privacy & security > Windows Security > Device security > Core isolation

Memory integrity will prevent the SP PRO Series II USB driver (ftdibus.sys) from loading.
The driver is compatible with Windows 11, but incompatible with the Windows 11 Memory integrity function.

If you have the driver already installed, for example you upgraded from Windows 10, you cannot turn on Memory integrity.
If you have Memory integrity turned on, the driver will not function until you turn it off.

After disabling Memory integrity, you may need to reboot your computer.

Note that Series 2i does not use the Series II driver.
